Governance Impact
A Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is a new form of legal governance structure that seeks to leverage the inherent benefits of decentralization using blockchain technology. Lastly, DAOs should have built-in mechanisms that prevent bad actors and harmful proposals from exploiting the project. These mechanisms should always be maintained, audited, and improved. It has been a common practice among the most successful projects to have their security checked regularly by a third party specializing in security. The importance of these cannot be overstated, as several incidents in the past left DAO treasuries depleted, crippling the project or even destroying it entirely.
